Ryan, I appreciate your comments. Yes, of course WWII is the obvious example of a just war (though it wasn’t conducted justly in all respects). But it’s one of the very few. Here is the basic idea about just war theory:

I don’t think there is a contradiction between allowing the possibility of an occasional just war and still maintain that wars are bad, period. Sometimes we are force to do bad things because it’s the least evil available. They are still bad.
